ISLAMABAD: In wake of the novel coronavirus (Covdi-19) pandemic and a lockdown in most parts of the country, the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has allowed students of its BA, BEd, MA and other post-graduate programmes to submit their academic assignments by April 27.
Previously, the last date for the submission of assignments was April 15.
This was announced by the varsity in a notice on Tuesday.
Issued by the Directorate of Regional Services, the decision has been taken with the consent of the university’s academic council.
Similarly, the last date for tutors to submit results has also been extended until May 4.
AIOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Ziaul Qayyum advised students to send their assignments to their assigned tutors by the stipulated date since it was an essential component for qualifying in their respective academic programmes.
Earlier, the university had earmarked 15 regions of the country for submission of academic assignments to their designated tutors through an online portal.
These regions include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Quetta, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Abbottabad and Dera Ismail Khan.
A separate LMS portal (http://aaghi.aiou.edu.pk) has been created for this purpose.
