Sexual assault: woman raped during robbery
During the crime, one of the robbers took Allah Rakhi to a corner and raped her
FAISALABAD:
A woman was sexually assaulted by the suspects during a robbery on Friday in Thikriwala area. Police have registered a case against the unidentified suspects.
Police, on the other hand, were also reportedly calling the incident ‘suspicious’.
Mohammad Yaqoob resided in an open field on the bypass in Chak No 245RB, Thikriwala village, with Mian Farhan, where he secured a contract to cultivate strawberries.
As the workload was heavy, Yaqoob's wife, Rehmat Bibi, his daughter Allah Rakhi, his son-in-law Ansar Ali, and his friend Kamran also lived in the open field. On the day of the incident, two armed men, aged 25 and 30, arrived in the field after midnight. The robbers mugged Rs20,000 from the people on gunpoint. The accused also snatched gold earrings from Allah Rakhi.
During the robbery, one of the robbers took Allah Rakhi to a corner and raped her. The robbers wore face masks and gloves.
Saddar DSP Jamshed Iqbal Nasir Chishti claimed that the incident of sexual assault and rape did not happen during the robbery, with the explanation that this cannot happen in the presence of so many people in a small place.
The medical examination of the victim Allah Rakhi was also conducted which did not confirm the assault, the DSP claimed.
