Disinfectant gate at Bhara Kahu police station

ISLAMABAD: The capital police have installed a disinfectant, walk-through gate at the Bhara Kahu police station on Thursday. The Bhara Khau locality was amongst the worst-hit areas from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and had was de-sealed on Thursday after a two-week-long lockdown.

The gate has been installed on the directions of IGP Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed to protect police and visiting people from the highly contagious Covid-19.

City Zone SP Sarfaraz Ahmed Virk formally inaugurated the gate on Thursday in a simple ceremony which was attended by Bhara Kahu SDPO Hamza Amanullah.

The gate works by spraying a fine mist of chlorinated water on the user, thereby disinfecting the user's clothes and body. All the visitors and policemen wishing to visit the station will have to pass through this sanitising gate.
