Police arrest 248 for lockdown violations

Since the lockdown, the police have registered 604 cases and arrested 1,712 persons for violating lockdown orders

KARACHI:
Police arrested 248 more citizens, under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for violating lockdown orders on Monday and Tuesday.

According to City Police a spokesperson, 85 cases were registered and 248 people were arrested for violating lockdown orders on Monday and Tuesday.


Since the enforcement of the lockdown, the police have registered 604 cases and arrested 1,712 persons for violating lockdown orders.

Meanwhile, Karachi AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon visited different security units of the police on Tuesday and inspected the facilities provided to police personnel. He visited Security II, Muhafiz Force, Special Security Unit (SSU), Foreign Security Cell and Court Police. During the visits, Memon also awarded case prizes of Rs1,000 to 300 SSU officials, performing security duties in three shifts, besides, distributing cash prizes and certificates among office staff.
