ATC extends physical remand of ‘Indian spies’

Separately, local court rejects bail plea of builder in Rizvia Society building collapse case

KARACHI: The administrative judge of an anti-terrorism court sent on Monday three arrested workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London, accused of being Indian spies, to jail on judicial remand.

The police presented the accused, Shahid Shooter, Majid, and Adil Ansari, before the court.

The bench sent the accused to jail on judicial remand and ordered the police to submit the case challan in 14 days.

According to the police, the accused had confessed to planning a terrorist act in Karachi. The police also claimed that the men worked for the Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing, commonly known as RAW.

Dua Mangi case

Meanwhile, the administrative judge extended the physical remand of the two accused in three cases, including the Dua Mangi and Bisma Saleem kidnapping cases, for seven days.

The court sought the progress report of the investigation against the accused, Zohaib and Muzaffar.

According to police, the accused had kidnapped Saleem and Mangi from Defence Housing Authority and demanded ransom from their families.

Earlier, Mangi had identified the suspects during an identity parade. However, the identity parade is yet to be done for the Bisma kidnapping case. The accomplices of the accused are still on the run.
