Telemedicine centre receives 2,700 calls

They were requested not to visit the health facility for consultation about ailments

MULTAN:
A telemedicine centre established at Nishtar Hospital has received more than 2,700 calls, including 372 related to the COVID-19 pandemic within 11 days after its establishment. Nishtar Medical College (NMC) Principal Dr Iftikhar Khan said that the centre received a good response from the public due to the current situation.

They were requested not to visit the health facility for consultation about ailments. The services are available 24/7 in three shifts of doctors, extended medical consultation for medicines, surgery, ENT,   pediatrics,  gynecology, skin,  dental and ophthalmology besides viral issues, said Khan.


He added that 2,745 calls were received between March 24 and April 3. Sharing details, Dr Khan stated that specialists and doctors are also available to serve at the centre in addition to young medics. “The team working for this purpose is enthusiastic and dedicated,” he remarked.
