HYDERABAD:
The Jamshoro police thwarted the transportation of 42 labourers from Karachi to Bannu late on Friday night.
The police found 42 labourers crammed in a mini-truck and hidden under a plastic cover.
According to the police, four persons were partly unconscious and had they continued to travel, some of them may have died.
The police arrested the vehicle’s driver and cleaner, registering a case against them. Meanwhile, the labourers were sent back to Karachi.
The Sindh government has imposed a ban on inter-city transport services, in an attempt to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
