Four of a family shot dead by robbers in Sindh

Meanwhile, the relatives of the slain men held a protest along with the bodies, demanding the arrest of the killers

HYDERABAD:
Armed robbers shot dead four members of a family in the wee hours of Thursday in Khairpur district. The incident occurred in Kholra Kalhoro village near Pir Jo Goth, in the limits of Faiz Muhammad police station.

Khaliq Dino Kalhoro, 45, his elder brother Ali Dino Kalhoro, 52, and two sons, 20-year-old Amjad Ali and 18-year-old Shahid Ali, were shot by the robbers. Khaliq, Ali and Shahid died on the spot while Amjad breathed his last at the local hospital.

"Around 10 armed robbers entered our home to steal cows but they found some family members awake and opened fire at them," Jabir Ali Kalhoro, a family member, told the local media. The robbers also stole grocery items from Amjad's shop, he claimed.


Local police said the assailants killed the men after they resisted the robbery attempt, fleeing afterwards. The Faiz Muhammad DSP claimed that the police had arrested a dozen suspects in connection with the murders.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the slain men held a protest along with the bodies, demanding the arrest of the killers. No case had been registered till the filing of this report.
