‘Abuse Of Power’: Woman accuses cop of rape
After initial investigations, it appeared that the woman was making up the story

A woman Wednesday accused a police constable and his five accomplices of detaining and raping her for four consecutive days. The incident took place at a house near Tarnol, in the outskirts of the city, she alleged. The police registered a case against the constable of Tarnol police station, currently on leave. After initial investigations, it appeared that the woman was making up the story, as she could not substantiate her claims and changed her statement multiple times, police said. “However, we registered a case against the suspect, and sent the woman for medical tests,” a police official said. The constable told police he knew the woman -- she is a singer and is from a family of rag-pickers. He denied the allegations and said he was willing to face the charges levelled against him.
