Floral arrangement
Flowers instantly brighten our mood and what better way to make your home more cheerful. You can simply pick flowers from your garden or order online and arrange them according to your own liking. You can set them on your side tables in your bedroom or place them on your dinner table. They not only add freshness but also colour and scent.
Decorate with books
If you follow décor inspirations on Pinterest or Instagram you’ll see a lot of people use books of their own liking as decoration pieces. You can set them on your coffee table or work from home station. Depending on how you set them, they can easily add depth and character to any room.
Pop of colour
Most of us are still reluctant to use pops of colour to our décor because it seems like the whole place needs to be planned around that colour. However, there is an easier way of doing it that doesn’t even require major commitment. You can simply throw a colourful woollen blanket on your living room sofa or add a vibrant painting or add some old bright decoration pieces to liven the room up.
Rearrange your bookshelves
Most interior designers will tell you, shelves are for more than just books. Fill yours with stacks of magazines topped with a candle or a quirky book divider or even adding frames or vases can make your bookshelves all the more interesting.
Quirkier frames
There are no rules when it comes to picking and choosing frames. Sometimes choosing the predictable option can be a little dull and boring. Instead, pair an old antique painting with a sleek modern frame, or vice versa. You can also put up contemporary art work in vintage wooden boxes.
Add personality
Sometimes you feel this pressure to make your home look incredibly streamlined and ready to be photographed at any moment. Resist it! Add your own personal touch to it, install a massive pinboard and fill it with photographs, cut-outs, mementos. If that’s not your thing, add candles or fairylights. It just adds a nice touch of personality to a space.
Scents
Scents play a huge role in creating any atmosphere. Make sure to opt for light and subtle room sprays. Nobody enjoys a scent that gets to their head and feels heavy.
Music
You can always play light soothing music, maybe a jazz tune or the sound of a waterfall. Any sound which brings you peace and instantly puts you at ease.
