Visa Expiry: Russian woman arrested for overstaying

She was taken into custody from Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine, where she was in a rickshaw.

The police arrested a young Russian woman for staying in Pakistan after her visa expired, on Wednesday.


She was sent to women’s jail after she was presented in court. Officials told The Express Tribune that the woman was taken into custody from Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine, where she was in a rickshaw, on Wednesday morning.

The Clifton Sub-Divisional police officer, Sheraz Asghar Sheikh, said that her 90-day visa expired on December 2, 2010. Asghar said that an Indian visa was also stamped on her passport. An FIR, No. 310/11, under Section 7/14 of the Foreign Act was registered.
