PML-N activists: Failed self-immolation amuses public

Three activists of PML-N attempt self-immolation to protest being overlooked in favour of other party workers.

SHAHDADKOT:
Three activists of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), in protest against the party leadership's 'cold response', attempted self-immolation at Koto Moto roundabout in Shahdadkot on Wednesday.

The three activists, Niaz Baloch, Shaban Jamali and Munawwar Mangi, in order to record their protest on being ignored by PML-N's senior leader Ghaus Ali Shah, sprinkled kerosene oil on their clothes, but despite several attempts were unable to set themselves on fire. The failure to set themselves on fire proved amusing for the crowd that had gathered to see them and they opted to laugh at them instead of making efforts to stop them.

The activists were later able to set some parts of their clothes on fire, which was eventually extinguished and they remained unhurt.

Seemingly one of the activists on failing to attract attention fell down flat and was taken to a local hospital from where he was later discharged.

The PML-N activists have accused Shah of overlooking seasoned party workers and favoring those who do not enjoy reputation in the ranks. It is pertinent to mention that Munawwar Mangi was removed sometime back from Pakistan Peoples Party (Shaheed Bhutto) and had joined PML-N.

As per the law, a case is registered in the area police station against those who try to immolate themselves, but since the concerned SHO was not available, no case could be registered against the activists.
