Legal action threatened: Liquor shops closed for Ramazan

All liquor shops will remain closed throughout the province according to the Ramazanul Mubarak Ordinance

KARACHI: “All liquor shops will remain closed throughout the province according to the Ramazanul Mubarak Ordinance,” said Sindh Excise Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla, on Tuesday. Chawla, while presiding over a meeting at his office said if the directives are not followed by the owners of liquor shops, then their licenses will be cancelled and legal action will be taken against them. The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise and Taxation Manzoor Memon and Shoaib Siddiqui. Furthermore the minister instructed concerned officials to check the stocks of liquor at all the stores before Ramazan so that their sales could be tallied during the holy month.
