All LHC bench jurists in Rawalpindi replaced
Judges will give up their charge on Friday while two new divisional, four single benches formed to hear cases
RAWALPINDI:
All judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench have been replaced, an official notification issued by registrar Bahadur Ali Khan read on Thursday.
The judges will give up their charge on Friday while two new divisional, and four single benches have been formed to hear cases.
The criminal divisional bench will comprise Justice Mushtaq Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Waheed while the civil divisional bench will consist of Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Asim Hafeez.
The new judges will assume the seat from March 23 until April 24.
Meanwhile, the LHC administration has cancelled the examinations for recruitment of 300 district and sessions judges in the Punjab judiciary as a measure to prevent coronavirus outbreak.
The exams were to take place on April 2 and date sheets and roll numbers had already been issued to the candidates.
However, a notification regarding exams suspension has been issued on Thursday and the new dates would be announced later.
