Cricket: SLC asks army to provide security

COLOMBO:
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), facing a massive economic crunch, has decided not to acquire the services of any private security firms for the upcoming series against Australia. Instead, the newly-formed interim committee has decided to ask their armed forces to provide security cover for the teams. “A sum of 58 million Sri Lanka rupees was allocated for security that was reduced to 26 million which is absurd,” said a committee official.
