KARACHI:
Prime Minister Imran Khan has fulfilled his promise by releasing Rs6.4 billion in developmental funds for Karachi, claimed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Aftab Siddiqui in a statement released by Insaf House Secretariat on Monday.
He alleged that the Sindh government did not carry out any developmental work in the city despite being in power for the past 12 years, due to which the situation in the city has further deteriorated.
Siddiqui added that the Centre had set up a developmental fund for Karachi, under which MNAs from the port city would undertake projects in their respective constituencies. He stated that there would be developmental projects in Gadap, Bin Qasim, Ibrahim Hyderi, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad and other towns.
Meanwhile, he claimed, the Sindh government only indulged in corruption and carried out politics in the name of Karachi. He alleged that Karachi had never been given its due rights, but this would change under the PTI government. "The provincial government has transformed the city of lights into ruins, but the PTI will restore its lost glory," he insisted.
