Balochistan Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE) and WASA Haji Noor Muhammad Dumar has hailed the collective efforts of the provincial and federal governments for curbing the outbreak of coronavirus in the province.

“All the government functionaries including district administration, health department, PPHI and PDMA have already been put on alert to deal with the emergency,” he said while speaking to media the other day in the provincial capital.

“Awareness campaigns are also being launched across the province to educate people about the virus,” he added.

The minister noted that chief minister Jam Kamal, health secretary and other officials concerned were supervising the arrangements in this regard.

He observed that due to precautionary measures taken in advance, no casualty had been reported in the province so far.

“Pilgrims returning from Iran are being shifted to quarantine centres for further observation where senior paramedical staff has been deputed,” he said.

Dummar stressed on the need for cooperation from all walks of life and urged the opposition parties to support the government instead of criticising the authorities in the efforts to prevent the spread of virus.

He urged the people to not pay heed to the propaganda being spread by the opposition and said that the government was making all-out efforts for their protection.
