Green belts of the city would be made more beautiful by planting maximum trees under a public-private partnership, said Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director-General Qamarul Zaman Qaisrani.

Addressing a ceremony of jackets distribution among horticulture staff on Monday, the DG added that trees and seasonal flower plantation were continuing in the city with rapid pace.

He highlighted that more than 800 seasonal flowers have been planted at Noorul Hassan Park. He further said that a special task force has been formed for the beautification of the green belts.

The DG elaborated that negotiations were underway with different private sector groups for the beautification of the green belts.

He stated that all possible resources were being utilised for this purpose. “The horticulture staff has been directed to submit reports on a daily basis. I will be monitoring the activities regarding the beautification of the city.” He claimed that all issues faced by the department would be resolved soon.
