Over 200 proclaimed offenders held in a month

Police teams also seized 21 Kalashnikovs and registered 124 cases against the offenders

Mandi Bahauddin DPO Nasir Sial has informed the IGP that police teams, during action against proclaimed offenders, court absconders, thieves, dacoits, drug dealers and illegal arms holders, arrested 201 proclaimed offenders (PO) implicated in heinous crimes during the last month.

Police teams also seized 21 Kalashnikovs and registered 124 cases against the offenders. In a campaign against drug dealers, 53 cases have been registered and 32kg of hashish and 225 bottles of liquor seized.


Moreover, more than Rs18 million was seized from the accused involved in theft, cattle hustling, robbery and vehicle lifting, and handed back to the owners.

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shoaib Dastagir had sought a report on police actions against criminals and anti-social elements from all RPOs and DPOs of the province.
