Raja Azhar allegedly sent men to occupy a house, injuring two in resulting clash

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Raja Azhar and others were nominated on Sunday in a case pertaining to firing over a plot dispute in Zaman Town. Two men, identified as Zamir, 20, and Din Muhammad, 28, were injured in the incident, which took place on Saturday.

According to the police, the complainant, Muhammad Mustafa, nominated Azhar and other suspects in the case. He maintained that Azhar had ordered the other accused to occupy his house, where they broke the windows and engaged in a scuffle with the women present there.

He claimed that one of the suspects, Asif Riaz, opened fire and tried to kill two persons, including a neighbour.

Two suspects, Shan Ali and Rafiq, were apprehended by area residents, and they identified their escaped accomplices as Basheer, Saqib, Qasim and Maulana Jamal.

They reportedly also stated that Azhar had sent them to the house in his vehicle, adding that Basheer was the MPA's personal assistant.

The injured were immediately transferred to a hospital for treatment, while Zaman Town police have registered a case under Sections 324, 452, 427, 354 and 34/109 of the Pakistan Penal Code, including charges of attempted murder, trespass with preparation for assault and assault of women.
