US team discusses investment options in South Punjab
The delegation discussed employing modern technology to improve the living standards of people of south Punjab

A USAID delegation called on Deputy Commissioner Amir Khatak on Thursday to discuss investment opportunities and employing modern technology to improve the living standards of people of south Punjab, especially in the fields of health and education.
The delegation held a detailed discussion and shared suggestions with the district officer on multiple issues. The DC informed the delegation that a lot of opportunities existed to work in the city and the region as a whole.
Khatak said the region had been playing an important role in the country’s agriculture sector. He said utilising state of the art technology in the sector could develop the economic conditions of local farmers.
He said the use of solar technology could offer an opportunity to uplift the agriculture sector.
Khatak maintained that there is a need for starting projects in Shujabad and Jalalpur Pir Wala where saline water is causing hepatitis and other viral diseases among the inhabitants.
