ISLAMABAD:
The federal government has assured Islamabad High Court (IHC) that it will implement its orders regarding the restoration of the dissolved Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) employees.

IHC has given the government two weeks to restore the council. The Ministry of National Health Services secretary attended the hearing conducted by a single-member bench of IHC comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani on the contempt petition filed by the PMDC employees.

During the proceeding, the secretary informed the court that they had written a letter to the ministry of law and justice for completing the restoration action and assured the court that its orders would be executed within a week.  Meanwhile, the court remarked that the federal health secretary was to be held responsible for the non-implementation on law and set a two-week deadline to the government for restoring the dissolved body.
