Bodies of Soomri Kohli, 45, and her sons, Tek, 13, Ashok, 10, Mukesh, 7, and Aakash, 6, were found in Jhimpir on March 9. As per the post-mortem report, the bodies of the deceased bore marks of torture and the five were strangled to death.
Initial investigation by police suggested that the deaths were a result of suicide. A bottle of pesticide was found from the crime scene, leading the police to believe that the five had consumed poison. This, however, was contested by health officials after the autopsy, who said that the victims were first strangulated to death and poison was later poured on their mouths.
A case for the killings has been registered at Jhimpir Police Station.
