LHC decision challenged

A petition has been filed to SC against LHC's rejection to register a second FIR against Musharraf and accomplices.

A petition has been filed with the Supreme Court (SC) against the Lahore High Court (LHC)’s rejection of a plea to register a second FIR against former president Pervez Musharraf and his accomplices in connection with Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.



Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam, Benazir Bhutto’s former protocol officer, filed the appeal in the apex court on Monday against the June 23 verdict of the LHC. The respondents according to the petition include former president Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and former law minister Babar Awan among others.
