KARACHI: The newly-appointed Sindh police chief, Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar, has issued a notification for the transfer of three police officials, including controversial Shikarpur SSP Dr Rizwan Ahmed Khan.

The SSP was criticised by the Sindh government and even served a legal notice after he wrote a report accusing the Sindh energy minister of being connected to criminal elements. As per the notification, the SSP, who is to be replaced by Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP Kamran Nawaz, has been instructed to report to the Central Police Office. Meanwhile, Syed Amir Abbas Shah has been appointed as Umerkot SSP, following the approval of a 30-day leave for Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh, and AIG Imran Qureshi has been appointed as the Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP.
