Balochistan has ample investment opportunities, says CM Kamal
Delegation expresses interest to invest in iron mining
QUETTA:
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal said that the province has immense investment opportunities for national, private and international companies because each region of the province has ample natural resources and suitable weather for economic activities.
He expressed this while meeting with a delegation led by Digles Hart and former Somalian president Ahmed Abidnoor in Quetta.
“The widespread landscape and extended coastal strip in Balochistan are replete with natural resources therefore government is taking steps to uplift foreign investment in the province,” Kamal told the delegation, adding the government would ensure provision of friendly environment to companies seeking to invest in different sectors.
The chief minister briefed the delegation on the initiative of direct investment in the province.
“Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) is functional in the province for direct investment without hassle to facilitate various opportunities of investment including water and environment sectors,” he added.
Hart expressed interest to invest in iron mining sector of Balochistan.
Kamal assured the delegation that BBoIT would facilitate and cooperate with the company.
The consortium has worked with multiple countries across the world investing in various sectors while the delegation visited Pakistan in order to assist federal government in restoration of Pakistan Steel Mill.
The chief minister was accompanied by Balochistan Chief Secretary Captain (retd) Fazeel Asghar and BBoIT Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Farman Zarkoon during the meeting.
Besides, Kamal held a meeting with Individual Land CEO Gul Meena Asad in which he stressed on portraying positive picture of the province through initiating entertainment activities that fostered social aspect of Balochistan.
“Government intends to hold an Expo in order to foster investment opportunities in various sectors of the province,” said the chief minister terming it necessary in order to win confidence of local and foreign companies.
The chief minister claimed that peace has been restored in the province urging foreign tourists, investors, business community and sportspersons to visit Balochistan. He added that government was working to achieve the target in the province “from Gwadar to Zohb”.
Kamal cited jeep rally in Jhal Magsi, Gwadar a success and announced a motorcycle rally would be held in June as well as annual Ziarat festival would be expanded to high level.
The CEO lauded efforts of the provincial government in promoting tourism and entertainment in Balochistan.
