Golf: Woods drops out of top 20

The former world number one has attempted to rediscover the form that yielded 14 major titles.

LONDON:
Tiger Woods has dropped out of the world’s top 20 for the first time since 1997. Woods, who has not tasted victory since November 2009, has been out of action with knee and Achilles tendon injuries aggravated on May 12. The former world number one has attempted to rediscover the form that yielded 14 major titles, first by stripping down his swing and then – more recently – by axing long-time caddie Steve Williams. A replacement has yet to be named. Woods is expected to return to the golf course at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational next week.
