Car thieves arrested, five vehicles recovered

Suspects reportedly confess to stealing cars from Islamabad, Rawalpindi & selling them in K-P, AJK

ISLAMABAD:
The Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three members of a gang of car thieves and recovered five vehicles worth millions of rupees from them, said a police spokesman.

A special team comprising Sub-Inspector Liaqat Ali, ASI Sajid Mahmood along with other officials apprehended three suspects identified as Umer Ali, Tahir Habib and Sabbir Khan. Police team recovered five cars worth millions of rupees from them.


The recovered vehicles bear the registration numbers as follows: Toyota Corolla (LXL-9488), Toyota Corolla XLI (LEA-8396) Toyota Corolla (LEF-7579), Suzuki Bolan (IDE-8501) and Suzuki Bolan (IDE-9020).

During the preliminary investigation, they have confessed to stealing vehicles from various areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and selling them in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and AJK.
