Prime Minister Imran Khan’s one-day visit to Karachi has been postponed due to overcast weather in Islamabad.

PM Imran was supposed to inaugurate various development projects in the port city. However, a statement issued from the Governor House stated that all projects would be inaugurated as per schedule by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail.

The provincial governor would inaugurate Sakhi Hassan Flyover, 5-Star Flyover and KDA Flyover. Other projects include the renovation of Nishtar Road and restoration of Manghopir Road.

The premier was also to chair a high-level meeting to review the progress made in various federal funded development projects and public welfare schemes in Sindh.

PTI government’s struggles to overcome challenges

In PM Imran's earlier visit in January, he assured the government’s coalition partners from Sindh of addressing their grievances, in addition to agreeing to Sindh government’s demand for the appointment of a new inspector general of police.

Surprisingly, no delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) met the prime minister during his day-long trip to the provincial metropolis.

Political experts had been describing the MQM-P’s refusal to meet the prime minister in the city where it holds political sway as “snubbing” him.

The party holds the crucial number of lawmakers to keep the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government afloat at the Centre.
