Rain spell: Multan on alert

District Emergency Officer (DEO) Rescue 1122 Dr Natiq Hayyat Alezai urged the citizens to ascertain safety measures during rain to prevent mishaps.

Addressing a meeting under community safety programme on Friday, Dr Natiq Hayyat Alezai said most of the mishaps occur due to poor safety measures.

He said the recent rain spell would continue up to the night of March 6 and added that people should avoid visiting under-construction buildings. He said that all dilapidated houses should be renovated.


He stressed on the need to ensure best cleanliness arrangements of roof tops and sewerage lines. The district emergency officer said that special focus must be laid on children by keeping them indoors.

“Children should not go near electric wires.” He also directed Rescue 1122 officials to remain alert during rain spell in order to deal with any emergency.
