KARACHI:
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed distributed motorcycles among 45 female lawyers during a ceremony celebrating International Women's Day, which is to be observed on March 8, at the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday.

He attended the ceremony, jointly organised by Women on Wheels initiative and the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), as the chief guest. Under the initiative, women will also be taught how to ride motorcycles.

Calling it a good start, the CJP said that women should also ride motorcycles, though he added that he wondered how they would be able to do so when he received the invitation.

"I believe that it is a risky endeavour and therefore, they should only do it after proper training," he urged.

"Women are very talkative. They shouldn't do so while riding motorcycles, though," he joked.

The event was attended by members of the SHCBA, Karachi Bar Association and a number of SHC judges.
