TSA hails formation of committee for probing irregularities in Islamia College

At least four employees of the Gomal University have been sacked over sexual harassment and financial embezzlement.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman on Thursday fired four employees of Gomal University in light of the inquiry report.

A press statement issued by the governor office said that four employees of Gomal University identified as Professor Dr Bakhtiyar Khan, Assistant Professor Imran Qurashi, sports supervisor Hikmatullah and laboratory attendant Hafizullah.

Besides the four employees have been sacked, Gomal University Director Administration Dil Nawaz Khan was already suspended while Professor Dr Salahuddin was forced to resign over charges of sexual harassment.


Governor Shah Farman had already made it clear to the administrations of public sector universities to take measures against harassment, corruption and mismanagement.

The Islamia College Teaching Staff Association (TSA) on Thursday in a statement welcomed the decision of Governor Shah Farman and the university Vice-Chancellor Dr Noushad Khan for constituting a committee to probe the irregularities in the university.

The TSA statement said the decision will bring an end to nepotism and improve quality of education in the university. The statement said the TSA endorses the recent transfers and postings especially the removal of university’s registrar.
