Rs160 million recovered by police during last two months
As many as 150 motorcycles were seized and suspects involved in murder were also arrested

Police Investigations Wing claimed to have made a recovery of over Rs160 million during the last two months. This was revealed by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Zulfiqar Hameed in his briefing during a press conference held at Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh on Wednesday.
Police also claimed to have recovered 65 cars worth Rs150 million, 150 motorcycles, besides arresting suspects involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom, robbery, robbery-murder and theft cases during the period.
The press conference was attended by DIG Investigation Dr Inam Waheed, SSP Investigation Zeeshan Asghar, SP CIA Asim Iftikhar Kamboh, and other police officers.
The CCPO said Lahore Investigation Police arrested hundreds of accused in recent weeks. The arrested suspects confessed to more than 200 cases. “Cash, mobile phones and a large cache of illegal arms were also recovered from the possession of the accused,” said the CCPO.
“In a single house robbery case cash and other looted articles worth Rs25million have been recovered by organised crime unit. Similarly, goods of Rs30 million were also recovered in Saddar” revealed the CCPO.

He maintained that four suspects involved in a case of kidnapping for ransom were arrested in the Manga Mandi area and recovered the kidnapped Hassan Raza. As many as Rs0.7 million paid as ransom was also recovered.
Hameed told the media about the details of arrested accused who used to rob homes in the disguise of house servants. “Gold jewellery worth Rs10 million was recovered from Zainab Bibi, a domestic worker, while Rs 6 million was recovered from the possession of an accused Saeed another domestic worker,” he said.
CCPO said that three suspects have been arrested in a blind murder case and was wanted for the last seven years. Police also arrested four suspects involved in the murder of businessman Mubasher at Akbari Gate. The CCPO and DIG Investigation handed over all recovered goods to the owners at the press conference.
The aggrieved parties thanked the police for their speedy action and recoveries.
Adeel-Tatla Case
SSP Mufakhar Adeel and his close friend Shahbaz Tatla’s case has become one of the most high profile case during the month. The SSP has been missing from February 11 and Tatla went missing on February 07. However, the top brass of police showed restraint from sharing details of the investigations in this regard.
CCPO Hameed said police were working on completion of legal formalities in the case. He added that when police felt the details were mature to be shared with media, they would surely go for it.
DIG Investigations Inam Waheed said that they could not share any information that could impede the process of investigations.
