Sanaullah challenges NAB inquiry on assets
He questions how the same matter of acquiring assets can be investigated by two departments with different allegations
LAHORE:
PML-N Punjab president Rana Sanaullah has challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) inquiry against him, questioning how the same matter of acquiring assets can be investigated by two departments with different allegations.
He said a challan has been submitted and the proceedings are pending before a ‘special court’ constituted under the Control of Narcotics Substance Act, 1997.
Reportedly, another inquiry by NAB has been started regarding the same assets, under the allegation of having been acquired through corrupt practices.
He implored that a vilification campaign was launched to propagate that all the assets either owned by the petitioner or his family members were allegedly acquired from the narcotics trade.
