The mock drill started with the rescue of students injured in a traffic accident. The presumed injured were given first aid treatment until the arrival of the police and the ambulances.

The second scenario presumed a bomb blast on the main road which left dozens of students injured. Following the blast, a siren went off to alert the rescuers. They rushed to the site and provided initial treatment to the victims.

The third scenario comprised of victims stranded on the third floor of a building that had caught fire. Using a tent, the rescuers made a make-shift slide enabling the stranded victims to come down sliding. The BDS robots also showcased how a planted bomb is diffused.

The equipment used in fire-fighting and rescue operations was also put on display for the participants. ADC said that preparing a rescuer in each household was a huge project.

CDD District Officer (DO) Talib Hussain said that they were committed to preparing a rescuer in each household in the district.
