Terrorism: Two injured in mortar strike

LANDI KOTAL: A mortar shell landed in the Hujra (guest house) of Haji Abdul Shakoor Afridi in the Sultankhel area of Khyber Zakhakhel last night, badly injuring his sons Adil Nawaz and Gul Nawaz, who were asleep at that time. The mortar shell also caused damage to the Hurja. However, it could not be ascertained where the mortar shell was fired from. Locals condemned the attack on innocent and peaceful people. “If the government and security forces do not take appropriate security measures to stop these mortar attacks, local tribesmen will be compelled to protest in the streets,” locals warned. They also demanded compensation and free treatment for the two injured brothers. This incident has terrified Landi Kotal, as locals do not know who fired these mortars or what was their motive.
