LAHORE:

The Young Doctors’s Association on Sunday expressed concern over the non-issuance of a notification to amend in service rules for senior doctors despite a lapse of two weeks.

A meeting of the service rules committee two weeks ago held under the chairmanship of Regulations Secretary Mohammad Ilyas, had discussed the notification to amend the rules for senior registrars, district specialists and assistant professors. YDA members said that the Health Department had not issued orders regularising services of 1,800 senior doctors. the regulations department was delaying the issuance of the notification to create unrest among doctors, they said. The association has appealed to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the matter and issue orders for the regularisation of these doctors.
