MUZAFFARABAD:
Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK) UK President Raja Fahim Kayani has said that the government of Azad Jamu and Kashmir (AJK) must play its role effectively for the liberation of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

While addressing Round Table Conference at Muzaffarabad, organised by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Cell, Kayani said: “Increasing ties with Kashmiris and Pakistanis living abroad will benefit from their services to highlight Kashmir issue on a global scale.”

Asserting that Kashmiris be united globally and will come up with a joint strategy to increase the pressure on India more globally, he emphasised that at this point, our focus should be on India to recognise Kashmir as a disputed issue.

Explaining the efforts and diligence of TeK UK, and Kashmiri and Pakistani diaspora abroad, Kayani said that there are sincere and unscrupulous workers for the Kashmir Freedom Movement in the form of Tehreek-e-Kashmir from Britain to Portugal.

He added: “Every movement has its difficult stages, but ideological commitment does not distract anyone from its mission and purpose.”

Addressing the ceremony, Jamaat-e-Islami Naib Amir Sheikh Aqeelur Rehman said that the work of Tehreek-e-Kashmir is praiseworthy. “We pay tribute to the efforts of Fahim Kayani who raised the Kashmir issue globally."

Lauding the promising role of Kayani in the Kashmir cause, senior Kashmiri Hurriyat Leader and Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmed Bhat said that Raja Fahim Kayani has now become a metaphor for Kashmir cause in Britain and Europe.

“The work Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK is doing in Britain needs to be enhanced, it needs momentum and support from within Pakistan and Kashmir,” he said.

Talking retrospectively, Bhat said that the Kashmir issue was created by the British and its solution requires access to British-dominated constituencies and Fahim Kayani has taken up the task and we pay tribute to his efforts.

“Since 2008, the freedom movement has entered into the nineties, for which we will have to reassert our role in the base camp concerning the issue of Kashmir.”

Qazi Shahid Hameed also said that the government will have to re-evaluate its role in view of the current situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

While pledging to fight for Kashmiris till the last breath, other speakers at the ceremony assured their support in the struggle to self-determination for the people of the disputed territory until IOK gets freedom from India's brutal clampdown.
