Naya Pakistan not possible without Naya Karachi: Asad Umar

Planning minister also stresses need for local governments system in the port city

Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said that the dream of Naya Pakistan can never be accomplished without remodelling the port city – Karachi.

“Insha Allah New Karachi will be built and Naya Pakistan will also be built,” the planning minister said, as cited by the official statement issued on Tuesday.

As a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Executive Committee and the National Assembly, Umar highlighted that under dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the city of lights will be transformed and developed to uplift the living standards of people in Karachi.


Asad Umar directs ministries to monitor food situation

Underscoring the need for local government system that is needed to bring improvements in the city, the federal minister said that devolution of power will bring equal authority and resources needed for the development of the metropolis.

He also said that a petition had already been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan for change in the local governed system of the city.
