IG visits martyred policeman’s family

Says a compensatory amount would be provided to the bereaved families

QUETTA: Balochistan Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohsin Hassan Butt has paid rich tribute to the martyred and said their sacrifices would not go in vain, adding that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) had formed its network and was playing a significant role for the eradication of terrorism and the restoration of peace in the province.

He was speaking while expressing his condolences here on Sunday to the family of martyred police constable Muhammad Waseem, who embraced shahadat in the line of duty in the town of Harnai in Balochistan.

Among those accompanying him on the occasion were Regional Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Additional IGP Muhammad Naeem Bharoka, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CTD Aitizaz Ahmed Ghoria, DIG Headquarters Fida Hussain Shah, DIG Sibi Range Pervaiz Ahmed Chandio.

He said a compensatory amount would be provided to the bereaved families under the provincial Shuhada Package while responsibility for educating the shuhada`s children would be shouldered by the police department and the provincial government.

He called martyrs ornaments of the forehead and said senior officers were visiting the martyr’s heirs to offer their condolences and share their grief.
