Diplomats laud Pak culture during orange festival

They all lauded the festival for creating the opportunity to showcase Pakistan and Taxila’s local culture

Foreign diplomat corps, belonging to different countries of the world, took a keen interest in Pakistan’s traditional culture, Sufi music, local crafts and delicious food and said that they were mesmerised to see the real face of the country.

They all lauded the festival for creating the opportunity to showcase Pakistan and Taxila’s local culture helping them to understand the softer image of the country.

The diplomatic corps from China, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Romania, Japan, Greece, Yemen, Iran, Australia, Thailand and others along with their families participated in 7th Orange Festival arranged in Taxila.


Over 200 Islamabad based diplomats and foreign members of INGOs, representatives of more than 70 countries along with their families participated in this annual event titled Orange Festival.During the event a special horse dance, traditional stone lifting and Sufi music were arranged at the residence of Zildar Zaheer Hussain Shah.

One of the diplomats said this festival had given them the opportunity to witness the beauty of Pakistan’s culture and traditions. Joint Chief of Staff Committee Chairman Gen Nadeem Raza on the occasion welcomed the diplomats and their families to the festival. He said Pakistan was blessed with a unique and rich cultural heritage.
