Chemical, industrial units closed for PSL matches in Multan
Assistant commissioner says they are being closed temporarily to reduce pollution
MULTAN:
The district administration has closed all chemical and industrial units on Vehari Road and adjoining areas of Multan cricket stadium in connection with Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches. Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Abida Fareed along with officers of environment and industries departments and WASA visited chemical and industrial units on Monday morning.
The AC said these units were being closed temporarily to prevent pollution. She added that these units had also been closed in the past during cricket matches in the city.
She said that these units were not only creating pollution but also affecting the sewerage system. She told the officers concerned to issue instructions in this regard to the chemical and industrial units and warned that stern action would be taken against owners over violation of the order.
