One killed, six injured in road accidents  

Injured shifted to hospitals

KARACHI: A man was killed while six others were injured in separate road accidents across the city on Sunday.

A rickshaw driver was killed after a collision with a speeding vehicle in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) phase seven.

The car reportedly rammed into his rickshaw at a traffic signal, within the limits of the Darakshan police.

The rickshaw driver, identified as 25 year-old Sahibur Rehman, died on the spot and was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

According to the Darakshan police, the car driver, Fazeel, was immediately taken into custody along with his vehicle. Further investigations are being carried out.

Meanwhile, in another incident, six people, including three women, were injured after a Suzuki pickup overturned near Super Highway’s Toll Plaza.

The vehicle had flipped over when the driver, who had been speeding, lost control of the pickup.

The injured were immediately shifted to Baqai Toll Plaza Hospital, where they were identified as 26 year-old Nafeesa Adnan, 32 year-old Parveen Ashiq, 46 year-old Razia, 18 year-old Rafiq Boota, 22 year-old Naeem Boota and 42 year-old Muhammad Azeem. The passengers had been traveling to the shrine of Samandri Baba, which is situated on the Super Highway Link Road.
