Pakistani mangoes arrive in Japan

"Japanese government will support various projects in Pakistan," Japanese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Kikuta.

Pakistan has successfully managed to export its traditional mangoes to Japan and a special ceremony was held here to celebrate the occasion, according to reports from Tokyo.


Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chairman Tariq Puri, who is currently visiting Japan, addressing a gathering said it was possible due to the cooperation and assistance of the Japanese government that Pakistan has been able to export to the Japanese market.


Japanese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Makiko Kikuta, while talking to delegation of TDAP said she was happy to know that the first consignment of the Pakistani mangoes had reached Japan and lauded the efforts of TDAP for improving the vapour heat treatment process of the fruits to meet the Japanese quarantine standards.

She expressed hope that Pakistan will provide a favourable environment for Japanese companies to enter the Pakistani market.
