Cricket: Women’s, U-19 tour of India scrapped
PCB decided to drop the series since the government showed no interest and delayed the issuance of NOCs to the players
LAHORE:
The Pakistan under-19 and the women’s team were forced to pull out of their scheduled tour of India after non-issuance of the NOC to the players.
Earlier, officials of both governments had decided to take steps in order to restore the sporting ties between the two countries and Pakistan had proposed a series of women’s and U-19 cricket before any decision on the Pakistan-India series, scheduled in the Future Tours Programme (FTP), was reached.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to drop the series all together once the government showed little interest and delayed the issuance of the NOCs to the players.
