In a rare sight, pilots skillfully tackled unseen but powerful forces of nature in an attempt to land their plane with hundreds of passengers and crew unscathed at Heathrow airport in the United Kingdom.
In the captivating video that made rounds on social media recently, Etihad A380 pilots are seen braving the maddening and stubborn winds as the massive aircraft gingerly descends upon the runway. The pilots pulled off a rather classy sideways steer, Gulf News reported.
The massive flying machine grapples winds, looking every bit like it's dancing in the air before it hits terra firma – it's a sight to behold.
PIA's training plane makes emergency landing
The incident took place after severe weather warnings were already in place for much of the UK over the weekend, with Storm Dennis kicking up 144 km/h winds and triggering floods in several areas of the country.
Confirming the video was authentic and recent, a spokesperson of Etihad said that the A380 flew from Abu Dhabi to London.
After the A380 landed, it vacated left towards the terminal where Etihad is based at London’s Heathrow airport.
