ISLAMABAD:
Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz has claimed that the federal capital will attain the status of ‘healthy city’ in the next three years.

Addressing a ceremony to inauguration an open-air gym in the Fatima Jinnah Park in Sector F-9 on Saturday, the mayor said that the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) had launched the healthy city programme back in 2017, which aimed to make the city pollution-free while encouraging citizens to take up healthy activities.

Aziz asserted that the corporation has already taken several steps under the programme. Besides this, the official said that creating awareness regarding health amongst different IMC departments was also a part of the project.

The open-air gym has been established by IMC with cooperation from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
