ISLAMABAD:
The top civic authority in the federal capital has issued notices to the owners of six apartment complexes in the city for allegedly violating the building by-laws as determined in a recent survey.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Building Control Directorate issued notices to the owners of the economy flats in Sector F-11, including to Safa Heights, Golden Heights, Tariq Heights, Sughrah Towers, Karakuram and Abuzabi Towers.

The directorate contended that a recent survey that it conducted for compiling data on commercial buildings in the federal capital indicated that basements of these complexes were being utilised for residential purposes.

It added that per building by-laws, basements can only be used for parking purposes but the owners of these buildings had illegally constructed residential flats in the basements.

Taking action in this regard, notices have been served to the owners of these buildings.
