RAWALPINDI: In a blow to the tall claims of the police of providing safety to citizens, it failed to keep the property of its own officers safe within the premises of police stations.

The motorbike of Civil Lines SHO was stolen from the premises of the precinct on Sunday. Sources said that Civil Lines SHO Tahir Shah had parked his motorbike outside the reception but was whisked away by unidentified suspects.

When SHO learnt about it, he reprimanded his staff and directed them to start a search for his motorbike. Further, a Rawalpindi police spokesperson said that Rawalpindi CPO Ahsan Younus has taken notice of the incident and summoned a detailed report from Potohar SP Syed Ali.

Meanwhile, the citizens said that how can they expect protection from the police when an SHO’s motorbike was not even safe.
