Indian border security force deliberately targeted civilian population along LoC, says ISPR

ISLAMABAD: A teenage girl sustained injuries on Friday when the Indian troops once again violated the 2003 ceasefire accord and resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border that divides the disputed Himalayan valley of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian border security force deliberately targeted civilian population in Nezapir and Rakhchikri Sectors of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

“A 13-year-old innocent girl got injured due to indiscriminate fire of mortars at Fatehpur and adjacent villages. The injured [was] shifted to [a]nearby medical facility for necessary care,” said a brief ISPR statement.

The Foreign Office had summoned Indian Charge d’ Affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia last week to register Pakistan’s strong protest over ceasefire violations by Indian occupation forces along the LoC in Chirikot Sector on February 8.

Mir Muhammad was martyred while Iffat Naz, wife of Arshad had sustained serious injuries due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by Indian troops. Both of them were residents of Kakuta village.
